Realtor Day at the State Captial

    There are so many things about Texas that are unique; it is hard to know where to begin. This week, I joined the Corpus Christi Association of Realtors on their bus trip to Austin, Texas.  It was Realtor Day at the State Capital. Because of the size of our state, many of us were faced with a very long day of travel and activity. Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles & Padre Island

April marks the beginning of sea turtle nesting season. Padre Island is synonymous with preserving the future for Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles. The world’s smallest sea turtle weighing in at about 100 pounds is named after Richard M. Kemp, the fisherman from Florida, who first described them. In 1947, film footage recorded the massive nesting that occurred on the beach in Rancho Nuevo, Mexico in one day. It was estimated at 47,000 females. Celebrating Easter on Padre Island

Easter falls on the last day of March this year. That means the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Billish Park starts at 11a.m., on Saturday, March 30. This is a huge event for the younger crowd in Corpus Christi. It begins with 20,000 eggs waiting for discovery by toddlers, 12 year olds and all ages in between. Some of the eggs will contain true value with dollar coins donated by First Community Bank.  Hot dogs are provided by Island in the Son Methodist Church and Island Baptist Church is in charge of the moo... read more

Springtime Jaunts

Spring is in the air; at least it is in South Texas. This is the perfect time to plan a road trip. Just take a day to leave the work load behind and enjoy what the surrounding area has to offer. Last evening, I joined a friend at a concert. The host asked for a show of hands from the audience, to designate the number of Winter Texans.
